February 2006:

I am in Jogjakarta, Indonesia right now. The hold up on my visa just set me back one week. I was delayed by a blizzard in New York when departing, but still arrived here on Wednesday, February 15th. Everyone is extremely friendly and I feel very safe here. I am slowly picking up bahasa Indonesia, and hope to pick it up faster when I develop a large enough vocabulary to practice more. My teaching has been so-so, but I am getting better. Plus, the teachers in the language center (PPBI) are all very talented and have been very supportive. I feel very blessed to be here.
Sama-sama (same to you),
Adrian Julian
